From the Farm: Update about Garlic Harvest party on July 17

A note from Hearty Roots Farm:
CHANGE OF PLAN FOR GARLIC HARVEST:  Please note that we originally scheduled our annual Garlic Harvest Party for Saturday, July 17th.  Well, just about every grower around here has had an "early" season this year due to the hot dry weather, with most plants weeks ahead of schedule.  The garlic is no exception, and it is almost ready to come out of the ground now!  We plan to harvest it early, this week sometime, perhaps on Wednesday July 7th.  We would welcome volunteers for this (please e-mail benjamin@heartyroots.com if you are interested in helping) but we know that most people will not be able to come on a weekday.  
WE WILL STILL HOLD A FARM EVENT ON SATURDAY JULY 17th, but it will probably not involve harvesting garlic;  we will likely work on various farm tasks, with an emphasis on weeding, and also taking tours of the farm and enjoying a day outdoors.  We hope you will still join us for a fun and maybe more relaxed day at the farm on July 17th!
